Sugar Overwritting cration date or puts wrong date

Hello,

Just caught up with an seemingly random issue we've had since we've started with Sugar. Noticed the issue in the past but thought it was a fluke.

Our Sugar implementation date was June 7th 2011.

This will happen on records on every module we use : Opportunity, Lead, Accounts.

Every time we do a change (edit and save) in Sugar, it tries to modify the creation date. See attached picture of change log. On that opportunity, we see the creation date as june 6th. So Sugar gives us an age og 169 days instead of the 3 we should see.

Also creation date field is not available to be edited or modified by any users, not even admins.

That said, when we create a new item it also tries to create it with a wrong date, more often with June 7th.

Sometimes it will put another date other than june 7th, like this week it put a date in august for a new opportunity.

Like I said, when we save it seems to be trying to change creation date, and more often then not it will fail and creation date will remain the good one, but sometimes, and we've seen it in quite a few entries it will be able to change the original creation date with a false one.

We have a field that calculates the age of opportunities. With Sugar putting wrong creation date on some records, it's hard to really see what's going on.

We've brought this to the attention of our intergrator, the one that makes PHP prgramming on our Sugar, and they are at loss and do not comprehend what might be happening. They will see open a bug ticket with Sugar.

But i am writing this to see if maybe anyone had the same problem before and if anyone might have a solution. Tried searching forums, but haven't found anything apart for some date problems on campaigns which is not our case.

Strange.

Which version are you using?
CE?
Any error messages in log file? As far as I understand there is no error message on screen, right?

Maybe this is an error in a logic hook implementation or workflow rule (in case of non-CE-edition).

No error message anywhere, not on screen not in log file.

But the problem is constant. As soon as an opportunity, account, contact or lead is created/edited and saved, Sugar will try to change creation date, sometimes it won't be able to, sometimes he will.

I think you should have a look into your before_save and after_safe logic hooks for these modules. If you don't find the problem there you should check your workflow rules.
