I recently downloaded a 30-day trial of the SugarCRM Professional Edition (on-demand). Supposedly, the Sugar Portal is included in this edition. I apologize for these rather "newbish" questions, but was hoping someone could tell me how the portal is supposed to work. I did the following:
1. Logged in as an Admin user
2. Under the "License Management" settings, set the number of portal users to 10 (default was 0).
3. In Admin > Developer Tools: Sugar Portal, there are options to upload a style sheet, sync the portal, and edit the layout. I wasn't sure what to do with all this (nor what the Sugar Portal URL should be) so I left everything as is.
4. Created a New User and set its type to "Portal Only User".
5. Created a New Contact and edited the Portal Information section: gave a Portal Name / Password and checked the "Portal Active" option. Note: I'm not exactly sure what relationship this contact has with the portal only user I created in step 4.
6. Now what? How do I test this Sugar Portal that comes with the Profession edition? I would expect to be able to log into the Sugar Portal using the credentials I created for the Contact record, but how do I access the portal in order to log in?
