Sugar upgrade

I am using sugarcrm 5.2 and of late have been receiving "prompts" that ask me to upgrade. My question is If I upgrade will it affect my configuration that have been made on the tool. I have added some new modules and and renamed some. Thanks for any help

As long as you have used Studio to do your customisation, then it should be upgrade safe. As always ... BACKUP YOUR DATABASE AND APPLICATION before you upgrade.

And if you want to turn off those notification, goto Admin>Sugar Updates and uncheck the automatically notify. You'll have to logout and back in again for this to have a noticeable effect.

I just upgraded to 5.2.0i and it broke. Now it complains about:

This copy of the SugarCRM customer relationship management program appears to have legal notices or author attributions modified or removed in violation of the GNU General Public License version 3. Please contact SugarCRM Inc. to correct this problem.

How can I fix this? I tried the upgrade wizard, but it wont go past the first page and none of the shortcut menus are there either.

How do I upgrade without the upgrade wizard or is that the way to fix it?
