Sugar v4.5 Open Source

An announcement was made sometime back as to the release of v4.50. However, no release date was given. Does anyone know when this version releases?

I think they are aiming for about mid-August for general release - after completing a couple of public Beta cycles. Should make for pretty good quality at 4.5.0 GA.

Let me ask one additional question. One of the issues we have run into is not being able to use v4.2 using MYSQL 5.x on a Unix box. In fact, it almost crashed the server. My web engineer told me that a review of the code found that despite the documentation stating it supports v5.x, he found it would not. So.... does v4.5 actually work with, been tested with? Current releases of MYSQL?

We are running several customer environments as well as our own environment with MySQL 5.x under Windows and Linux. We have not experience any problems

We do support MySQL 5.0, but not all patches. We found that MySQL 5.0.16 had some bugs that caused Sugar to fail.

However looking at our Supported Platform list here, we are incorrectly claiming support for all MySQL 5.0.x versions. I'll get that corrected right away.

In the meantime, I know you will be able to successfully use versions MySQL 5.0.19+.

I would be interested in hearing more from your web engineer on what he has found that prevents Sugar from running on MySQL 5.
