I am running Sugar 5.2 Pro...
I would like certain fields that are only in Leads to also appear in Opportunities. I tried adding them to the field_arrays.php (found in modules/Opportunities) but to no avail.
Any ideas?

You will want to use Studio to add these fields as custom fields in the Opportunity module.
Sugar Developer Zone - developer resources | Sugar University - user and admin training
Sugar Docs - user and admin documentation | Sugar Bug Tracker - Enter or view bugs
SugarForge- open source modules, themes, lang packs | SugarExchange - commercial extensions

but im not sure that this approach will work because when you add a custom field, it adds it with the _c behind it.
Isnt there a way for me to display a leads email address (that is already defined in the Leads field 'email1') in the upper section of the Opportunity, without having to redefine (like i would have to do if i were to add the custom field 'email1_c')
Do you know what I mean?
Hi,
The easiest way to do thid is to recreate the fields with Studio in Leads and Opportunities with the same name i.e. field1_c. These values will then be automatically transferred from Leads to Opps.

So you two mean to say that if field1 exists in Sugar already in the Leads module... and i go to the Opportunities and create field1_c, that Sugar will know these are meant to be the same field and the data will automatically be transferred over?

that does not appear to be working the way i thought it would
I too am looking to do something similar. I would like to have phone number and maybe email address from the Accounts module be present in a custom module called Services.
So, if I go to the services module, and click select to pull up an account, select my account, then the corresponding number would also show.
So basically I dont know if it would be easier to have the two fields syncronize, or if it would be better to have the fields in the Services module read from the database values for the accounts fields... Hope that makes sense...
This is still an issue...
I cant seem to get the DEFAULT fields from Leads over to Opportunities. It seems to work seemlessly when you are working with custom fields but how can you get a pre-axisting, default field (such as "email1") to display in the Opportunity?
If this is not possible, it would seem that I could just create custom fields (like first_name_c, last_name_c, email1_c) for all the pre-existing fields (such as first_name, last_name, email1, etc)... this seems like a pain in the A... and it would seem there SHOULD be an easy way to simply do what I described above... but I cant figure it out.
Any ideas anyone?
HI,
It definitely should works from Leads to Accounts or Leads to Contacts. Haven't tried it with Opportuniteis

well there are fields, such as lead_source that originates in Leads... but it is also available in Opportunities and is populated based on the information in the Lead when converting so I know the functionality is there.
The issue is just making the fields appear in Studio so that I can add them to the layouts. I thought the leads_array.php is what told Studio what fields to display when you go to Studio > Opportunities > Fields but i guess i am mistaken.
Is there a way to create a custom field WITHOUT the _c added to the end? Or a way to remove the _c after the field is created?? If so, i think that might solve the issue...
