Default SugarCRM 5.5.1 Email window disappeared!

    Hi all,

my SugarCRM 5.5.1 installation (under CPanel on CENTOS) failed to set appointments a few days ago (facility was just blank!), and now the same has happened to my email pane - it's disappeared! Is this maybe to do with TinyMCE? How on earth did it happen?

I have tried to repair everything I can find and still no result. I am desperate as we cannot function without our CRM.

I just went to grab screen shots, and the appointment facility is partly back. No surrounding page, no styling. Please see image

Does anyone have advice for me?

    Thank you

    Hi Steve,

It is because of your cache folder doesn't have enough permissions.
Make it 777 recursive and everything should be back(even appointment module should be, with a condition that you haven't done any wrong customizations for that module).
    Thumbs up.

    Thanks so much David.

I have no idea how this changed, APART from the fact I asked my ISP to copy the account as a test bed to my other server a few days ago. Now that is not good. I will have to speak to them.

I am changing permissions now via FileZilla and will give it a go.

    Here's hoping!

    Hi Steve,

    All the best.

That should solve your studio issues as well, which you have posted in different thread.

BTW a quick tip, if you are a developer though, install web developer toolbar add-on for firefox and check the related javascript files under Information->View Javascript, and see the file names which don't have enough permissions, resolve that, and you are through with that.
    Thumbs up.

    Hi David,

We do Joomla and SugarCRM. I use Firebug and occasionally the Web Dev Toolbar, but did not know you could use Web DEv Toolbar to check file permissions! Where do I do this?

    Thanks.

    Hi again,

I have followed David's advice, which was great and per the book. The dir permissions WERE good a week ago. WE won't go there.

HOWEVER, it has not fixed the problem. The cache on my browser has been cleared, and I have tried different browsers. Could this be a proxy server cache problem somehow? It does make sense that David's fix should do the job.

Talking Re: SugarCRM 5.5.1 Email window disappeared - SOLVED

the window came back when permissions problems were solved in the js libraries.

    What did we do?

    a) set all to 755
    b) set specified folders (re install guide) to 775 so web server can write to them.

Why is it so easy when you know how? :-)
