Default SugarCRM as an information download center?

Hello I'm using Sugarsuite 4.5.1e and have PHP 4.4 i believe installed, this is a shared hosting setup.

Basicly, I want to create an online download center for leads, appointments, and other items for people outside my company who pay a subscription fee for services. So far, I have created users and limitted their access to only their own accounts, leads, opportunities, etc. The problem I'm worried about arises because we will need to assign the same lead to more than one person....for example, a trucking company is going to purchase some new trucks and I want to provide that lead to both the fleet sales rep so he can work his opportunity and I'll also want to send it to an insurance agent who might want to talk with the firm about extending insurance coverage. I sure hope this makes sense.

I don't want these different parties seeing each other's calls, notes, meetings, etc. but I do want to use Sugar to easily transfer this information to our clients once we find leads.

What do you think? Am I in the right ballpark here, or way off?

I have a vague idea that my solution might be in the portal or group user neighborhood but am so new to this app that I'm not sure.

    Any help would be wonderful.

    Thanks,
    Rod

    Hi accessfirst,

Interesting idea you have here! My first thought would be to have two different leads (opportunities) for this one account; they really are two different selling opportunties that happen to be to the same business. Each lead would have its own progression through the sales cycle (in other words, the insurance sale wouldn't be dependent on the other lead in any way). Different sales people would be working on each lead, and the only thing they'd share would be the company they are selling to.

Does that make sense to you?
