SugarCRM, Invoicing & ZuckerDocs...

Does SugarCRM handle invoicing well?

I know if comes with a document manager but I'm not really sure how it ties in, And I'm pretty sure you can't merge fields from SugarCRM into a microsoft word document anyway... Maybe the OpenSource version doesn't include it... Does the paid versions include a function to Merge SugarCRM fields into MS Word?

I came across ZuckerDocs (http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/zuckerdocs/) which merges SugarCRM fields into MS Word for the Open Source version...

I'm not sure how it works with merging into MS Word.

Do you need a windows server?
Does that windows server need special software (such as MS Word) installed?
Or does your computer jsut need MS Word installed?

SugarCRM Open Source does not include a product catalog, or quotes ability.

The Pro version does have this - and has an opton to print the quote with an Invoice title - to act as 'sort of' an invoice.

The Pro version (or the Sugar Network product for Open Source) does include the merge capability for Word.

No, currently you cannot use the Word Plug-In to merge quote data, not sure what effort would be needed to do this

Can't think how you would do that either - but you could write a report on it and export that - I think that's as close as you could get.

It is possible to merge Sugar fields into MS Word by using an ODBC database connection. You may use the jasperreports-for-sugarcrm addon to print your documents as PDF. ZuckerReports supports MS Word merge for Sugar OS, but it is a commercial product.
