Default SugarCRM = Not Stable and No Support?

    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36095

I posted this yesterday. I talked to Sugar today. I'm doing a hosted Eval and after 15 mins of adding modules, the portal went blank on me.

Is this what I should expect from SugarCRM. This is a HORRIBLE experience so far... Support has been non-responsive and the system won't stay up.

I can't offer much help myself im still new to sugar however could you specify which modules have been added its possible one of these has caused the issue?

Are you able to access the admin pages at all ? (/index.php?module=Administration&action=index )

    I've done a bit of searching and the problem could be caused by a number of things it is possible that;
a language file is missing / incorrect.
    or
the permissions for a file required by a module are not correct resulting in a blank screen.

Are you able to check the error logs / have the logs checked for you (im not sure how the hosted Eval works)

    Hope some of that helps.

Thanks for the reply - I tried what you said and it redirects to the white screen. You can try yourself at:

I really like the concept of SugarCRM (cheaper than my salesforce and I can host it myself) but I've lost total confidence in stability and am hoping people would reassure me!

I've had the evaluation (hosted) running for 15 mins! And then poof!!!

Sugar has its oddities (as does most software), but I can say for our instance at our company SugarCRM has been the best thing we have implemented at our company since it was founded 20 years ago. We currently have 70ish users on Sugar, comprised of a world-wide sales team, 24/7 support team, development, marketing and executive team, using all components of Sugar everyday. I would like to think your issue is just an isolated issue and I hope it is. The Sugar community is also a huge plus for Sugar. I use this forum daily to troubleshoot my problems and to try to help others out. Not to make excuses for Sugar's service towards you, I know they are heads down in trying to push out v5.1 before their August 1st deadline.

Please let us know of anymore details you might pick up on in your instance so we can try to help troubleshoot your issue.

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Firehost,

Sorry to hear about your trouble with SugarCRM. Support for trials is given through your sales representative and sales engineering. If you have an issue then you can contact your sales rep and they will be glad to assist you.

I have seen this issue once before and it was caused by a user who started their eval by loading a bunch of different 3rd party modules. Some of which had never been tested on Pro or Ent instances.

I was able to resolve this issue for you. You now should be able to log into your eval instance. For some reason, there was a custom language file that was corrupted. I have seen that happen in the past if there were special characters used for labels. I am not sure if this is what occurred in your situation but you should now be able to access your instance.

    Hope this helps,

    Lori
