Help please! Is there no ACL for the Sugar address book? Users who have access to see only their own contacts in the Contacts module, are able to see ALL contacts through the address book. What am I missing?

You're missing nothing and are correct in your assumption that there's no ACL for the address book. There has been much discussion about the SugarCRM email functionality recently in other parts of the forum and the consensus is that is leaves much to be desired. SugarCRM will address much of this for release 5.5.1 ... but it's likely that much functionality will be stripped out in order to get the bugs out before they start building a better client.
In the meantime an email client such as thunderbird or outlook or a webmail service such as gmail may be a better option ... depending on your business requirements of course

Did this get resolved in 5.5.1? I didn't see it in the release notes.

Thanks for responding, I thought I was going blind
I'm going to write the code to add ACL functionality to that module as it's unacceptable to have the address book show things that aren't visible in other modules...
