SugarSuite 4.5 Installation Error: database user name and/or password is invalid

I've searched the forums, but did not see this issue. I'm getting stuck on step 3. I set up an account and can use the account to create ODBC connections and log into Management Studio Express. On this dev box the sql server password policy is not enforced so that's not the issue.

I have gone through all of the steps in the Wiki here: http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p..._SQL_Server%22. I went back and confirmed that the setting changes saved. I have done iisreset and rebooted along the troubleshooting process.

The name of the server is dev01. I'm using the default instance. The browser service is disabled. So I've been entering the following:
Host Name: dev01, 1433
Host Instance is blank
Database Name; sugarcrm (I created an empty database with this name)
Database Username: sugarcrm (I created a login with this name and mapped it to the sugarcrm database)
Create database: not checked
Create user: not checked
Drop and Recreate existing Sugar tables: checked
Populate Database with Demo Data: checked
Use multibyte...: checked
Database account above is a privileged user: not checked
Privileged Database Username: sugaradmin (this is the admin account I created while following the wiki article)

Any ideas?

I noticed that I never elaborated on the problem, though I did include it in the title. I get "SugarCRM database user name and/or password is invalid." even though I know the password and usernames are valid. I've tried different variations and I've tried changing the passwords etc.

The ODBC connections that I've created that use this account test successfully. I've also been able to log into SQL Server Management Studio Express with the account.

I have a feeling I'm missing something simple and will kick myself when I see it.

This thread has been getting a lot of looks so I thought I would post how I got the install to complete. (I know that it has been a while since my last post to this thread; I had moved on to other things and came back to this.)

1) Start the SQL Server Browser service - The documentation indicates that the Browser service should not be needed. Would the install have worked if I left the Browser service disabled and used the sa account? I don't know and I can't really spend any more time on this right now. If I get some time to test this, I will post the results to this thread.

2) Instead of using the SQL Server account I created before beginning the install process, I used the sa account as the privileged account to create the database and the user account. Either the wiki or an install document recommended creating an account and giving it admin privileges. Being new to SQL Server 2005, I suspect that the account I created did not have all of the permissions that I thought it did, which would explain why the sa account worked. Perhaps elaborating on the steps to give the account the needed permissions would prevent problems like this in the future.

I must add that this software has been worth the effort to get it working.

I got it also to work with the sa account. This privileged account created the database and the database-user. In my case, the "SQL Server Browser service" has not to be started.
