Base system will be CentOS 5.3 running a file server and gateway / firewall.
Assuming Sugar is to run what would be the minimum requirements. Also may want to load a PBX onto it as well what would you all suggest.
Thanks for any inputs,
PAris

Hi,
Our target is around 20-30 users. Lots of documents in PDF, .doc, odt, etc
Most users are professionals so expecting max of around 1000 accounts, and 2500 or so contacts.
We would like to use the email but it is so clunky at the moment we haven't decided. Eventually if they get it fixed we will.
By the way there are extensive custom fields and additional modules storing info but will likely not be used the same way as contacts, accounts and cases.
I'm not so worried about the HDD requirements as making sure we have a good read on memory needs, min. processor, and details. Networking is not an issue though if you have some info on bandwidth calcs for sugar use that would be nice.
Tried searching around but couldn't find anything suggested. Trying to narrow our hardware choices.
Thanks PAris
Hi Paris
Your sugar does not require a so powerful machine.
I would suggest you:
4 GB memory;
A processor with a huge cache memory, like 2MB, 3GHz clock would be so far.

Hi there,
Please find attached a server spec I drew up for 50 simultaneous sugar users and 10,000 accounts with 50000 contacts, 1000 projects 20,000 meetings/calls/activities. There were no specific email/document requirments although extensaiv e use of reports is made. The server can alos handle an extra processor if necessary which could then be partitioned to handle your pbx etc, p.s the prices are chilean pesos!

Andrew
Thanks for the info guys,
Always nice to check your assumptions!
Take Care,
Paris
We are to Linux and we have difficulty configuring IPTables in the severs, especially to use with CSF, our front-end, which we run under Webmin . We'd like to get access to them via SSH-2, allow SQL, DNS, mail and web servers to get through the firewall and keep hackers out.
