    Default Symantec ACT 2000 -> SugarCRM 4.5

    First off, here is the information about my test environment:

    Windows XP Professional
    Apache 2.2.4
    PHP Version 5.2.1
    MySQL 5.0.37
    Sugar Open Source 4.5.1b
    What we are trying to do, is move an ACT 2000 database over to Sugar, while keeping both the contacts, users, AND notes intact. It has about 22,000 contact records and over 70,000 note records in it. I've googled for a bit and searched through the sugar forums for the past few days and found some interesting threads, but everything I have applied has not worked out as planned. I admit I am not an expert when it comes to manipulating data, so I was hoping I could post here and find some assistance. Is there anyone around that has sucessfully done what we are trying to achieve here?

    I went over the discussion found here:

    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2042

    I also downloaded the sugar to act converter from sugarforge, neither worked in the end. We can get contacts to import without issue, the brick wall is when we try to link the notes to contacts/accounts/leads.

    Are there any other resources around on the web that detail such a conversion? Or even better, a real person I can speak with that has gone through the same thing I am trying to work out. Please let me know (PM works just as well as posting)

    Have you looked into using Jitterbit (www.jitterbit.com)?. It is a pretty handy tool for moving data from all kinds of different sources to targets... takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do it works great!
