System Settings Won't Save

I'm trying to save my system settings under the administrative menu. I check the options, hit save and it seems to save, but when I then click "system settings" again, all the settings are back the way they were. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Please post any messages from sugarcrm.log with the words 'config', 'settings' or 'Administration'.

Please check your permissions.

I'm looking for my log file and this is somewhat suspect. I cannot seems to find it. Two things I'm seeing.

When i go to "Configure Log Settings" it says: "No Log File"

If I run the diagnostic tool on the "Sugar Log File" it says

"Getting sugarcrm.log
Couldn't copy sugarcrm.log to cacheDir.
Done"

So it looks like I'm having problems with the log file.. any idea why? My "cache" directory has the proper permissions. (as far as I can tell)

Make sure you copy that permissions to these files and dirs:

custum/, themes/, metadata/
config.php
sugarcrm.log (if it's not there, please create an empty file)

Then, edit your log4php.properties file to:

//log4php.rootLogger=fatal, A2
//log4php.rootLogger=error, A2
log4php.rootLogger=warn, A2
//log4php.rootLogger=info, A2
//log4php.rootLogger=debug, A2

..making sure you receive all warning, errors and fatals in the log
