System-wide Saved Searches?

Is there a setting that I'm missing that allows an admin-type to push Saved Searches to all the users. Or to all the users in a role.

If not, is there a hack?

The search interface is simple enough if you "know what you're doing". But it's a lot simpler to push out a half dozen Searches and List Views and tell the sales folk where to look then it is to walk the sales folk through creating the searches.

So far it looks that saved searches are only for a user.
Is there a way to assign them to to a role automatically?

I would also find system wide Saved Searches very helpful to my sales force. Please send me an email if someone develops a patch, hack, or upgrade.

generally it would be great to be able to control any bit of the user interface through a entry in a table. Like if you want to make a saved search available to a user, just add an entry into the users_gui table or something..
