Text Area Custom Fields in Duplicate Merge?

When a custom field is created, the duplicate merge pull down is not available. Is this a limitation of custom text area fields? Or is this a bug?

The standard text area fields work fine during the duplicate merge.

Hi,

Haven't tried it with patch 'h', but you define the duplicate actions when creating the custom field. Is this what you tried and it didn't work?

When a custom field is defined, switching the data type to Text Area causes the Merge Duplicate drop down to go blank.

When a custom text area field is edited, the Merge Duplicate drop down remains blank.

Browser-wise, I see this with both Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.
