Dear All,
We are trying to implement Sugarcrm CE for a non profit organization and one of the requirements that has been posted by the power users is that of data security in this model:
Say there are 3 levels or roles, L1, L2, L3. The people having L1 role should be able to see all data viewable/editable by L2 and L3. Similarly, L2 role users should be able to view/edit data viewable/editable by L3 people too.
I came across a module called securitysuite which claimed to implement some security based on data groups and even downloaded and installed it. tried using it, but it turned out to be too complicated and convoluted implementation of this simple security model. I also saw that a couple other users had asked the developer basic questions about usage and implementation, but all that got were nasty responses. The so called help document is in consistent and not helpful either.
Im thinking that this has to be a requirement of almost all the organizations that are implementing sugarcrm for their needs. How are they coming over this limitation? Is it really difficult to develop this customization? Is there some simple way to implement this out of the box.
I would appreciate a response by the sugar community.
Thanks
Gaurav
