Is there a list of recommended permissions for files/folders

Since I upgraded from 5.0.0g to 5.1 last week, I have been having a lot of issues. I can't even run the diagnostics because after I run them, I click on the link to view them, and I get an error saying I don't have permissions to access those files.

Besides that, I am also missing the modules/Home/metadata/detailviewdefs.php files and was wondering what the best way would be to restore those? Should I install another version of 5.1 on my server on a different domain and then copy those files that are missing? I think I have a total of 3-4 metadata directories that are missing.

You can use the command" chown -R user.group path_to_sugar
Where user and group are the user and group under which the apache runs. You can figure out these informations in the httpd.conf

I'd say the recommended permissions for a productive system are 750 (rwxr-x---) for directories and executables (are there any?) and 640 (rw-r-----) for anything else.

Owner and group should be as Andopes said.

I wrote this a while back, maybe it will still help. I have to update it for 5.1 but the basics are there.
