Time Based Workflow not Triggering

I have created a time based workflow with a target module of Project Tasks. I am trying to get the workflow to trigger off of a milestone in the project that has passed (gone beyond the specified Finish Date).

Here is what i have done:

I created a workflow definition with the target module of Project Tasks and set the execution to be After Time Elapses.
I then created a condition as follows: When Finish Date was more than '4hours' ago.
I then create an alert to send an email to a specified user.

I have tried several variation of this and i cannot get the workflow to trigger. I have confirmed that that workflows are working because i have successfully created several other workflows based off saving a record.

Do you have the cron job set up correctly so that the Sugar scheduler will run?

I believe so.

I checked the scheduler under the Admin section and it has an entry for "Process Workflow Tasks" as often as possible and it shows in the log that it has been running several times a day.

Is this all that has to be setup.

This is an issue I recently had. Contacting support I found out that a Time Based workflow only works on records that are created after the workflow is created or in old record if you update the date fields.

That is to say edit the Project change teh dates, save it , then edit again to addthe correct dates.

Hi Chris,

you are right. I found out the same when i created a workflow for opportunities they are over the expected close date bit still ongoing in the Sales Stage. it works only for This records we created after the new workflow.
