Default Timeout - Email Notifications - Project Task Assignments Problems

    Hi,

I have a few basic problems:

    1. I want to increase the timeout duration and I have asked my hosting company to change session.gc_maxlifetime. I am running SugarcCRM 4.5.1 under www.mydomain,com/sugar. They have installed a php.ini file in the root of my domain and one in the www.mydomain,com/sugar foler and changed the session.gc_maxlifetime variable to 2000. However, sugarcrm still logs me out every 15 minutes or so. How can I increase the timeout duration?

2.So far I could not manage to make the system to send me email notificcations and reminders when a task is assigned or when a task is due. How can I do that?

    3. When trying to create a project task, there is no way to assign it to a specific user. How can I do that?

Many thanks for all your help!

I'm not using 4.5.1 any more but here's a stab at part of it.

#2 Did you make sure that the user has an email in the user setup page? Also, is your outgoing email client working. i.e. are you using sendmail or what? Is it enabled so you can send emails.

#1 not sure but I don't think that php.ini is being read from there. Search the forum as I remember you can also control this fromt he .htaccess file within you web root.

#3 Have fun! This is particullary difficult but you can custom create the field and link it using the examples from other modules. If I remember right the supertimesheet at sugarforge does something with the user as well for tracking time. Might be able to borrow some code from there.

    Good Luck,
    Paris
