    Default tracking leads

Once I assign leads to my sales team, is there a way to track their progress to make sure all leads are being followed up on and where they are in the sales process?

    Thanks, Tarable

    Default Re: tracking leads

    Hi Tarable

I am pretty new to Sugar myself, however the way we are using the system is as follows.

All of our prospective clients are in the system as leads (about 500 of them), once we have established contact with that company and they are a chance for our product we turn them in to an "Opportunity", this creates an account for the lead so we give the account a "Type" of "Prospect" (which we setup in the studio editor). (You can setup a saved search in the accounts section to only show "Prospects" and another one to only show "Clients" so that you can keep track of things easily =)

Opportunities can be tracked using the dashboard, you can keep an eye on the sales progress using categories or percentages or dollar amounts etc etc.

As there is very little documentation on how the system should be used we really had to guess, however I would say that is intentional as Sugar can be heavily customised and it allows you to use it how ever you wish.

Anyone please feel free to correct me if there is a better way to do this!!!
