Transferred sugar to new server and it outputs garbled text

Hi,

I'm trying to transfer my sugar install from a linux server to a mac. I've transferred it all over correctly with regards to settings but when i view the crm on the new server it just outputs garbled text. If i change the database connection settings password to an invalid one i get a message that tells me that it cannot connect to the db so the system works to a certain extent.

If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great.

I'm running 5.2.0c and i transferred the database UTF-8 to UTF-8 so it shouldn't be the encoding at fault.

You are using a version of PHP that is incompatible with your version of Sugar.

You need to either downgrade PHP or upgrade Sugar. There are also some messages floating around this forum relating a code modification one can apply that will correct the problem.
