Transferring Sugar to a new Server

Hello together,

in short time I have to transfer my existing sugar installation to a new server.

Can I do that just by backing up the system? As far as I understood the database is not included in the backup. Is that right? If so, just backing up the system would not help.

Has anyone a short manual for that or can give me a link or so.

That would help very much to prepare the transfer.

What do you need to do:

• zip the sugarcrm folder;
• dump the database, depending on database type there is a specific way to accomplish that. For MySQL database you can use the phpMyAdmin to generate a zipped dump database;
• Copy both files to new server;
• Unzip sugar zip file on the target folder;
• Create the database on target server, according to database name on config.php at sugar root;
• Create the appropriate user name and password according to config.php;
• Edit the config.php to update the site_url;
• Make sure the php.ini attributes match on both servers;
