    Default Trouble uploading to Accounts

    I am having problems uploading csv file to Accounts.

    I exported the list from accounts, changed data, uploaded to system mapping fields as requested... it uploadxs no changes... it skips everything.

    We have never uploaded via spreadsheet before. Is there something Im missing?

    What if I just want to upload brand new accounts to Sugar? How do I do this successfully?

    Are you sure the altered file is actually uploaded to the server? Are you trying to upload a file with the same name of the original export? Maybe there are some file name conflicts.... I'm just throwing something out there...

    Sounds like your method should be working.

    My understanding is that you can only import new records - you cant use this mechanism to do a bulk update which is what I think you are trying.

    If you are importing complete data set as it was exported (then changed), Sugar is seeing the IDs already exist and so wont duplicate them.

    I guess you could delete your existing records before importing the modified data set - but its high risk so I would check it thoroughly for any issues before doing it !

    Right now, the import tool allows you to only import new records, not update existing records. However, in 5.1, the import functionality will have an update functionality added to it.

    Thank you. If was trying to update and export and then re import. We are about to update to 5.0G or something at the moment so Ill have to wait till we obtain 5.1. What a shame I have to go in an manually enter into each client and update,

    We also plan to release the Beta version of a new Sugar Plug-in for Excel extension alongside Sugar 5.1.

    The extension will allow you to view Sugar records in Excel and update the records from Excel. You can also create and delete Sugar records from Excel using the plug-in.

    The Beta version plug-in will be available to customers and to those who have purchased Sugar Network.

    Thanks, i also found this frustrating. I was trying to export a group of records, take an action with those records, then import the sub-set of that export (the ones who responded to my action), resulting in an update to the existing record -- not creation of a new record. I'm SO looking forward to getting 5.1 and the excel extension where this works.
