Question Two different projects, but the same company

    Hi,

how do I deal with this?
I've got two different projects, two different websites and two different e-mail addresses - even the target group and addresses are different - but both projects are run from the same company.

Should I install two different Sugars or somehow use one with two different emails/tags for every contact/account/lead etc.?

    Thanks in advance
    Bye, Chris

Question Re: Two different projects, but the same company

As soon as it comes to custom fields, it doesn't make sense anymore to have two 'projects' in one Sugar. It's possible though - just strange to categorize everything I guess.

    What's your opinion?

Or to put it in another way:
If I go the wrong way now, what is easier later:
To create a second CRM as a copy and delete unnecessary data or to merge two CRMs together?

Question Re: Two different projects, but the same company

    Any thoughts on this?

I've seen CE Teams which is quite nice.
But optimum would be, to have two different SMTP account and each team can only use it's own one.
But it seems not possible so far?

Well if you will ever need data from other project make it in one instance. It will take you some time to configure everything but since you guys are from same company it shouldn't be a problem even if you come to situation that you can see a record or two from other project.

All in all, try going with one instance and establish some baseline business rules to make a job easier.

    Hi,

it is possible to do it in one Sugar. even if you have different fields. You can hide fields with Role Management and you can hide records with the team structure. We have 14 different offices and in some countries they need fields that the others don´t need. I would do it in one.
