Default unable to delete accounts after import in 5.0.0b

i have run into a strange problem. I am importing accounts from a csv file, 300 at a time. I needed to start the import process over again, but when I try to delete the 300 accounts I just imported, I get the popup asking me if I am sure, I click ok, and then nothing happens. No error message, but the accounts are still there. I have tried several times, from both firefox and explorer, also trying just one account at a time, but I am unable to delete these accounts.

I have just done a clean install of 5.0.0b on a remote server.

    Thanks for your help.

I am having the same problem:

Check one or more accounts to delete. Click Delete. Click OK to confirm. Browser looks like it's processing the request, but the account list comes back with the deleted records still there.

    Help?

The other problem you'll run into is that Sugar is just changing the deleted value from 0 to 1 for deleted in the database. The records are not really going away.

If this is your first imports and you don't have data you care about go into query browser and issue delete queries for the populated data. This will give you a clean DB and not leave you with hundreds of records.

The other thing that I can't stress enough here is the invaluable use of VMware for these kinds of things. It does snapshots so that you take a snapshot. If you don't like what happened, revert back to the original state. When you get it to a point where you like it, delete the snapshot and you're good to move on.

Check out vmware server and you'll see the benefits.

Thanks, yes, I have gone into the database and done delete queries. I usually log on as admin when I am trying to do an import, so if the data gets corrupted I can filter by the created by flag.

VMWare allows you to virtualise your servers. this means you can run several servers on one physical machine, run windows on a linux rig and vice versa (not that i'd encourage that). it's very easy and useful tool. i can only recommend it (both for free educational use, as all out commercial use in the form of ESX and so on).

you can take whole backups of the entire operating system and restore it very easily, which is what JVWay was commenting about. i however don't quite see that as an argument to run VMWare, as you don't simply switch to VMWare on a whim...

you can find all info you want here: http://vmware.com/

it's very interesting, but not something that'd actually help with your current issues.
