Unable to edit Accounts (Blank Page)

using Version 5.2.0a (Build 5447) of sugarcrm.
PHP Version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.5
Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu)
MySQL 5.1.41

I had to move it to a new server. Everything is up and running fine, but when I click and account, then click the edit button, this is what I get:



This does not occur on any other page, I am able to edit Opportunities and Users without an issue.

I have tried to Quick Rebuild and Repair the Accounts module, but still the same result. I have also enabled php error logging and checked sugarcrm.log with no avail.

Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Have you installed any third party modules or plug-in ?

Another trick is Take a backup of custom/modules/Accounts/metadata/editviewdefs and detailviewdefs
And rename these two files and quick repair & rebuild.
it will take a view from main module directory.

Let me know it works or not.

there are no third party modules installed. we are using as is.

i tried to remove the files, then quick repair and rebuild, but it did not replace the files. i ended up having to move the old ones back.

still the same result.

Please attach files under, custom/modules/Accounts (mainly, detailviewdefs.php under metadata folder and view.detail.php under views folder, if any).

The only files in custom/modules/Accounts/metadata are searchdefs.php and searchdefs.php.suback.php.

in custom/modules/Accounts the only file is SearchForm.html

should i copy the files from /modules/Accounts/metadata to this custom/modules/Accounts/metadata folder?

Alright! It means you dont have custom files for detail view.

Do you have files under custom/modules/Accounts/views?

If you have not changed anything for detail view of an account, it is a strange behaviour.

Try deleting files under cache/modules/Accounts and see if it works.

i have cleared the cache for Accounts module, and still the same results =\

I dont see a reason of failing the detail view to load now! Try restore detail view through studio for Accounts module.

hmmm... nothing in studio works.

when i click on a page it shows at the top "failure to retrieve data"

this is not just for accounts, but everything in studio.
