    Default Unable to send email campaign

    The mail campaign feature of our sugarCRM 5.0 installation seem to work sporadically. The test messages and one scheduled message were sent out successfully. After they were sent successfully that first time I then tried to resend them to the same list again and they never arrived in any of our staff inboxes. I do have the cronjob setup with our server and have double checked the scheduled mail queue.

    What would typically happen is I would click on the campaign and then launch the campaign wizard and to send test emails I would click test email. For the Scheduled email I would click on the scheduled email button and the navigate into the admin area and send the queue out to the people on the list. But after doing this successfully the first time it hasn't worked since then. I would like to know what else I should check on to see if there is a way we can get this working shortly.

    Hello,

    are you trying to resend the Default type target list? You cannot send the same email marketing item to the same default target list more than one. If you send out the email once, and then try to send again, all the emails will be suppressed. This is because the system will suppress sending out the same email marketing item to the same email addresses. So if you had 2 duplicate contacts in the system, this person would only receive one email. So if you want to resend the same email to the same default target list, you will need to duplicate the email marketing item and send out that new one.

    Target groups of type test can be sent any number of times.

    Would the same hold true if after sending the message out to the people on the list that those same email addresses wouldn't be able to receive anymore test messages from sugar from the same campaign?

    You can send a test of the campaign an unlimited number of times to anyone who belongs to a target group of type=test.

    the restriction only applies to target groups that are not labeled as type=test

    mine doesnt work at all. test or otherwise.

    I have two test marketing messages in my queue that have been sitting there for hours despite changing the schedule to every 5 minutes, modifying from sendmail to smtp, duplicating and resending the message, selecting the send mail queue buttons, scheduling the email in the past, and future, etc, etc,

    nothing seems to cause the email to go out of the queue.

    Yet, and you would think that this would use the same internal routines as good software engineering dictates, the system has no problem creating and assigning new leads, contacts etc.. it just whips the email right out there.

    So, having gone through the forums and read information on how to do this properly, what am I missing.

    Very frustrated.

    fixed, turns out a developer had put in debug statements in an earlier project that were impeding the send.
