Update fields on import

I'm hoping I'm being blind and missing it...but does SugarCRM really not have an update on import option? I can import to add new ones but no obvious option to update existing info. With 5000 contacts our business can not afford to merge the duplicates everytime we need to update...

catherinejt, your are correct, at least the moment Sugar does not offer such option. Maybe you can import directly into the database instead or use tool like Jitterbit / http://www.jitterbit.com/ ?

Unfortunately, there is not a way to do updates like this within SugarCRM.

I ended up using Microsoft Access 2003 and the mySQL ODBC driver to do an update query. I had forgotten two fields from the old contact database, so I had to do this to get these two fields populated in Sugar. I explained how to do this in another post a few days ago.

If you do anything directly to the database, test test test. I tested my updates on an offline database to make sure it did what I wanted.
