Exclamation Upgrade From CE 5.5.1 To Pro 6.1.1

    Hi, Newbie to the forum.

I need to upgrade from SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 to Professional 6.1.1, would you anybody be able to suggest the best way to upgrade.

Need to upgrade like this; SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 to Community Edition 6.1.1 then to Professional 6.1.1.

Also need to migrate data from SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 System to a fresh install of SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

I need to upgrade from SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 to Professional 6.6.1,
I guess you mean, 6.1.1. You have to go 5.5.1 > 6.0.3 > 6.1.1 Then CE to PRO.

Also need to migrate data from SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 System to a fresh install of SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1
You can simply copy and paste the config.php of your old Sugar package to Fresh one, change the site_url to new one. You will need to give the email passwords(Email settings and Emails configured) again into new fresh install. And you will have to copy and paste the files under cache/uploads to new fresh install.

I hope this will be enough.
    Thumbs up.

    Hi David

Many thanks for the above reply. Thats correct CE 5.5.1 To Pro 6.1.1

I have download the following "SugarCE-Upgrade-5.5.1-to-6.0.3" zip file which is the best method of upgrading via the wizard or silent upgrader ?

Regarding the Data migration will this copy the data fully ?

    Thanks again

If you have millions of data, silent upgrade is best option, else you can go via wizard.

Regarding the Data migration will this copy the data fully ?
By copying config you are referring new fresh install to old database, which means, all the data stored in database has now linked to fresh version.
    Thumbs up.

Its a fresh install. I went down the road of using the wizard however i have now come across the following problem:

    1: System Checks - Complete
2: Upload an upgrade - Complete
    3: Preflight Check - Complete
4: Commit Upgrade - In Progress
    5: Debrief -

    Problem
"4: Commit Upgrade - In Progress" it doesnt appear to be doing anything could you suggest anything to check ?

    **

Currently i have SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 installed on a sever, however im install SugarCRM Community Edition 5.5.1 on a new sever so will this be the same for copying full data ?

    Hello,

I would suggest to back up all files and folders of your SugarCRM and database before you upgrade. Duplicate the SugarCRM instance and database, as in test server and upgrade that successfully before making it Production version.
    Thumbs up.

I have created a snapshot of the server pre-upgrade. I am still having the following issue "4: Commit Upgrade - In Progress" it doesnt appear to be doing anything, any ideas or is there a way of checking to see if the upgrade is installing ?
