    Default Upgrade to PHP 5.2.4

We're currently on SugarCRM 5.5.1e running a Windows 2003 Server, Apache2, and PHP4. All were installed with a bitrock installer.

I have been having problems with apache crashing, faulting php4ts.dll a handful of times each day. The only thing running on Apache is SugarCRM. I read a few articles on this and it seems like some people have had this symptom go away with an upgrade to PHP. My question is, is there a walkthrough on upgrading to PHP 5.2.4 as it specifically applies to SugarCRM running on Apache? I am not new to servers, server operating systems, sql, etc, but PHP is a new thing for me.

    Thanks for any guidance!

There's not much difference in PHP 5.2.4.
You can look on www.php.net, they have a good upgrade guide for that situation.

At what point do the segfaults happen? In any case, and for Windows, in principle you should be able to upgrade PHP just by carefully replacing the current DLLs with the ones from PHP.NET (download the .zip). Remember there are some PHP DLLs inside the Apache directory as well

    Cheers

I haven't figured out which module within SugarCRM is causing the system to crash. Is there a way to log that? We have five people in the system throughout the day, mainly just adding notes to accounts. Apache will fault php4ts.dll 4-6 times a day. When it happens, the page won't load and the users have to refresh once Apache gets back on its feet again.

I haven't been able to find out much about why this is happening. One person noted the problem went away with an upgrade to php, so I figured I'd try that first.
