Default upgrading from 2.0 to 3.0c, almost got it done, but!?!

i got teh 2.0 up and run for a long time and that i dare not to change to the new version until i recently found that it's a must
the new features is so cool!

so now I have tried to upgrade from my very old OS sugar 2.0 to the new 3.0c by doing this

    1. upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5
    2. upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0c

i used the sql script from the download section, run throught all the process then it was UP and running only one BIG problem
at the header of the page it shows me an error

    --
Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in C:\SugarCRM\include\database\PearDatabase.php on line 402
    --

i do not know how to fix it as when i upgrade from 2.0 to 2.51d. it was running Ok, all my exisitng data also ok
but now, i can use the new 3.0c with no problem and with my old data but every pages i was opening, that error will be show at the top of the page.

was it the problem with the mysql ? i am using quite old version 4.0.24

    appreciated any comments

I found the update scripts by querying google. You guys need to:

    - keep your documentation in the tarballs up to date
    (or)
    - set up 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones when site redesigns/updates occur

    and
    - improve site navigation

    Lastly:
    - actually respond to questions with timely and accurate information on this messageboard

    see http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?p=25388

    I finally found the scripts I needed after giving up on your site search and navigation and resorting to google. {edit: Found found the navigation to it. Could be improved, but oh well.Links directly to the legacy/upgrade utilities and documentation the tarballs reference should be linked to directly from the main download page, especially when the tarballs reference URLs which have since been removed or replaced during site upgrades }

I mean no offense with my criticism, but on the other hand I make no apologies because the upgrade process is so painful - mainly due to poor site navigation and compounded by "documentation" in the tarballs consisting solely of URLs are pointing to pages which no longer exist.
