Urgent help needed copying database to CD

Our IT guy set up Sugar CRM on our internal fileserver. To access the database in a web browser we can type \fileserver\crm in the address bar. When I open Win Explorer and type \\fileserver there is no crm directory.

I need to back up my database to a CD.

Can anybody please help me?!

What tool did he set up to view the database - or do you mean the sugarcrm application was at \fileserver\sugar?

To backup a relational database like mysql (which sugar uses by default) you'll need a backup tool. There is a command line tool built into mysql but there are other more graphical based ones.

try navicat: www.navicat.com
mysql do one: www.mysql.com/products/tools/administrator/

or install the webtool phpmyadmin: www.phpmyadmin.net

You'll also need to backup the sugarcrm files on the webserver - but you can do that from the admin section of your sugarcrm site.
