    Question URGENT:Recover Contacts

    I was entered nearly 2000 contacts in the contacts section by logging through admin. I was created 4 users underneath it. All the contacts that are entered using admin login will be visible to all the users. From the last two days, i did not see any of the contacts in one of the user contacts. How to restore the 2000 contacts in to that user?

    Have the contacts been deleted? i.e. Can you see them if you login as Admin?

    Do you need to restore them from the deleted status? Or are they there, but need to be assigned to another user?

    Please clarify.

    Iam able to see the contacts when i login through admin. When i login through the other user iam not able to see the contacts in the contacts section?

    That's because the contacts either have a problem with the user assignment, which you should be able to correct via the mass update feature, or, the other users are part of a security role that does not allow them to see contacts other than their own.

    What does the "Assigned to" field look like on the contacts?

    To check the roles, access the Admin control panel and then click Role Management. See if you have any roles defined and which users are members of them, as well as the restrictions the role is imposing on the user.

    If you are using the 'pro' version, make sure that the admin user's default team is 'global' and not 'admin' - otherwise no one else can see them.

    If this is the case, it is worth setting all users' default team to global otherwise it will happen al over the place with any record.

    You'll need to change the team of all the effected contacts (and any other record with a non-global team) to 'global'. The mass update tool might help but if you have detabase access, it'll probably be quicker to set it directly. The default team id is '1' and each record in the database has such a field.
