Use mailbox in Email marketing disappeared

Hi all

I am a very newbie in CRM and in Sugarcrm too, of course

I had to put my hand on a preexisting crm (rel 4.2.1b on a W2k3 SE server) and...I don't know what I have done but when I open the "email marketing" template the "Use Mailbox" field - where i can assign a group - is empty.
So when I try to send an email (via smtp) the message is

"The following marketing messages do not have a mail account associated with them. Please correct before proceeding"

:-(

I checked out also the oldest campaign mails, and I see that near the account who sent the mails there is this message

[username]@.MISSING-HOST-NAME., UNEXPECTED_DATA_AFTER_ADDRESS@.SYNTAX-ERROR

Please,may you help me asap?

Hi,

Have to done the email setup.
For the "USE Mailbox" you have to do the emaill setup first.

You need to go to Admin>In Bound email settings and set up an email account of type "bounce handling"

I would also recommend that you read the manual

The email setup was done in the past...but, anyway, where i have to go to setup the mail ?

I am in admin panel -> inbound email -> selected user and everything looks ok (as a matter of fact I try "test settings" and everything is ok
I am not able to change the "group assignement", but maybe it's normal in this release...

I saw just now your post

I have that check box in grey, and so i'm not able to change
Anyway if i create a new mail box, in that checkbox I have only one voice :" create mailbox when saving"
(translating from italian, so maybe it's not perfectly correct :-) )

My release is 4.2.1b

4.2.x is a very old release ... you should think about upgrading ...

please post an image so that I can see what it is you're looking at
