Default Using "Account Name" in Lead report results in 'Unknown Column error'

I am getting a MySQL error when I try to run a very simple Lead report. All I want to do is include the field "Account Name" in the output. I can run the report just fine as long as I don't include "Account Name". (For example, if I just choose "First Name" and "Last Name" the report runs as designed.) But the report is worthless to me if I can't see the name of the account...

When I add "Account Name" back into the output, I get MySQL error 1054: Unknown column 'accounts_leads.id' in 'field list. I'm using the report wizard to select the fields for the output. I'm using the Lead module and picking all of my fields from just that (primary) module. I can't understand why I have the field available to choose, but the column is 'unknown' when I try to run the report.

I saw another thread by someone who was unable to use the "Account Name" field to perform a search within leads. Sounded like a similar problem but I tested that and was able to use the field in that context.

I posted about this same problem here:

Maybe the subject line was too obscure to generate a reply... so, I'm trying again with a new thread.

    Hello,

this is a reported bug: #26006. There were changes made to \modules\Leads\vardefs.php in 5.1b that are causing this the report to break.
