I have installed the most recent Sugar open Source Version (4.5.0f) and although I like the interface and what it should do, there just seem to be a few problems although the installation went quite smoothly (all boxes ticked ok).
Firstly no dashlets appear, there is no dashlets.php in the cache directory and none appear to be created when run for the 1st time. Has anyone else experience this, or know what might be causing this?
Error message appearing is: Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'cache/dashlets/dashlets.php' (include_path='.;c:\php\pear') in D:\Inetpub\ascendis\crm\modules\Home\index.php on line 36
Secondly, some ACLRoles module opens when choosing Role Management, which then doesn't enable the creation of Roles. I switch to just Role module manually which does allow creation of Roles but appears extremely limited in it's function and only allows entire modules to be included/excluded. I haven't bothered seeing if this works any further at this stage as I would like users to have some email functionality but certainly not viewing other user mailboxes (unless mail attached to an account/contact etc).
As this is also not far from useless, I am thinking users can create a folder on the mail server specifically for emails they would like seen on SugarCRM (Open Source) and access this through IMAP... should this work? Must say the email hasn't even worked so far for me as it says the settings are ok when tested then when saving/creating the user it says there is an email problem.
We have had an older version of Act! but now considering just upgrading this as we know it works on our Windows 2003 Server without the problems above. Although we may have looked at a stand-alone SugarCRM package (not opensourced) this is now unlikely with such errors on the Open Source version.
Thanks
David
