Default View of Sugar is not working/loading correctly

I updated SugarCRM with the 5.5.0 patch and now for some reason the screen does not show correctly (navigation runs down the page and looks as though non of the Java is working).

This makes the program very hard to navigate.. and clunky. Almost like I'm stuck in some sort of WSIWYG mode.

I can email a screen shot to help explain what it looks like if anyone thinks they may be able to help guide me in the right direction.

    Thank you for your help.

    OK ... 5.5.0 IS NOT A PATCH.

5.5.0 IS NOT READY FOR PRODUCTION USE.

Did you do a backup before the upgrade?

    Hi salesagility,

Thank you for replying. I see what the issue is now. Yes, I think we did do a backup, however we have installed 5.5.0 RC over the top of 5.1 full version, and now it seems 5.5.0 has made itself the base installation. When I try to use the upgrade wizard to pick the right options online, there is no option to go from 5.5.0RC to anything.

I've tried to downgrade to the 5.2.0 released full version or upgrade to the 5.5.RC4, but I am getting the following error:
Required steps must be completed before continuing.
The zip file is missing a manifest.php file. Cannot proceed.I have run the Admin>Repair>Quick Repair

To fix this, will it mean I lose all the data I have been inputting since the change to the RC version - which is pretty much everything? Or can I uninstall and re-install 5.2.0 without affecting the data?

    Thank you for your help.
