Default Viewing completed Tasks in 5.0.0a

    Version 5.0.0a, no modifications.

When a new Task is created under Accounts or Project Tasks with any status other than "Completed" or "Deferred" it is visible however once the task status is changed to "Completed" or "Deferred" it dissappears.

    Two questions:

    - Where does it go?
    - How do I make completed or deferred tasks visible?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

It is unacceptable that completed tasks disappear... and that no one has yet responded to this.

    Im having the same issue.

If you select TAB Activities and Shortcut Tasks all Tasks are visible.
In advanced search you can define which status you want to see.

I suppose you meant the dashlet "my open tasks", there the default filter setting is disabled for closed and deferred taks, You only must change it to your preferences.

I would also like to know how to list Completed or Deferred Tasks in the subpanel below a Project Task.

It seems much more efficient to keep all tasks related to a single Project Task visible in the one place, instead of making users dig through other tabs to check the status of a task they need to know was completed etc.

Using dashlets to keep track of completed tasks is a good idea, but what if you belong to a team that is working on a task, and the task is assigned to a team leader instead of you? My understanding is that there is no 'My Team Open Tasks" dashlet for such a situation.

Keeping all the tasks together under a single Project Task would be very useful, whether they are completed or not.
At the very least it would be great to have an option to hide or view them.

    Guys.

SugarCRM offers two subpanels for Activities:
    1. Activities itself, which displays the open activities;
    2. History subpanel, which displays the closed or canceled activities.

    Perhaps it clarify some questions.

    Cheers

Thanks for the clarification Andopes, but I think you are talking about the Activities Module (tab). I'm more interested in viewing my completed tasks as they exist in subpanels of the Project Task Detail view.

The history subpanel of my Project Task detail view does not retain any tasks when they are completed. The completed tasks also disappear from the Activities subpanel of the Project Task detail view.

I would like to be able to see all child Tasks of an individual Project Task in the detail view, whether the Tasks are active or completed.

    Hi, dsmithies.

I toke a look at the source code related to your question and I saw that altough the Task module has the ProjectTask as a parent_type, this one has no relationships to Tasks, neither subpanel definitions at its layout_defs.

So you could create a extended vardefs, layoutdefs and relationship for enabling the viewing of Tasks under your ProjectTasks.

    Cheers

Did you mean i would have to make extended vardefs and layoutdefs to view the Completed tasks? I can already see Active tasks in the Activities subpanel of the Project Task detail view...

    Hi, dsmithies.

I had looked at the SugarCRM CE, not SugarCRM Pro.

The Pro flavor has Tasks under ProjectTasks Activities Subpanel, but not under History Subpanel.

So you can only add the task entry into History Subpaneldefs at the ProjectTask module.

    Cheers
