Web 2 Lead question

I have been trying to set up a web 2 lead form using Sugar 4.5.1b and have run into an interesting problem. Currently. our sugar server is on a seperate server from our web server and can only be accessed from a vpn if you are not on the network. The form is giving me the internal IP address for the form action. When testing this form on the website it's not working. My guess is that it's because of the internal IP address given.

I understand that the best option would be to have the sugar server on the outside, but excluding that for the time being are there any ways that we could get this set up to work?

This is probably an obvious question, but I don't see an answer to it in your message, so I'll ask it. Is there a reason why the web lead server cannot be setup to connect to the VPN?

Also, another option might be to create a CSV file instead of directly hitting the Sugar server. You could then import that file manually or in an automated fashion in order to get the leads into Sugar.
