Web To Lead Capture - Behind a VPN

Ok, here is the deal.. I have an instance of Sugar Open Source 3.5.1h set up behind a vpn. I need to be able to add new leads from a separate site with a form outside the VPN.. I can have the form either send an email or save the data to a MySQL database. I know its done with Web To Lead. But since the form is outside the VPN it cannot communicate with sugar. It needs to be automatic due to a high amount of leads coming in from the form. Any thoughts on how to get this to work?

May be you should think outside the VPN .
Instead of pushing stuff come up with a process that picks up the data periodically from DB or XML, SOAP etc. from the location where the form resides.

Yes. I actually thought of that.. but how would I go about pulling the data from the DB into Sugar? (I just started working with Sugar a few days ago and am not exactly sure how it all works.) Is there a way to modify the Web to Lead capture to do this?

wow what am i talking about .... didn't realize that you have to get the data back - lol.
I guess you'll have to carry the data back with buckets. Don't see how you'll get it. There is no way for the app to authenticate with the VPN ... bummer.

One thought I had was to send the form info to an email then have a script rip the data out of the email and put it into the leads table.. Possible with sugar behind a VPN?? If so any ideas how?

That actually sounds like a great idea. You might want to come up with some XML for your case.
XML will be easy to parse.
