Weird Inbound Email Displaying Problem

Hi,
Running on Sugar 5.00e and have this weird inbound email group folder problem. Cron job was running okay and new emails are being pulled to the folder. Folder email count shows increasing new emails. However, when the folder is clicked, the right display panel shows ZERO emails. A pic worth a thousand words - attached is the pic. It was running okay until suddenly all the emails kinda of disappeared.

Fedora 4, PHP525 Mysql 4.1x .. this is the funniest bug. tried long hours troubleshooting.

I've noticed that when sorting emails by date (ascending or descending), everything seems to work ok.

But when I sort emails by

- "From" , ascending
or
- "Subject", descending

=> I get 0 emails. Changing the order shows the emails again.

There also seems to be bugs in the email paging.
When I have the emails sorted by, for example, "From" and click last page, I get "Page 10 of 1".

Do you experience these bugs as well?

I have Sugar Community Edition 5.00e, but I had these problems also in 5.00c and 5.00d.

Sh1eld, thks for pointing out the cause. The msg re-appeared with different sorting.
However, after i create a new folder with 5e, all sort methods work. So far so good.

Sigh, after 4 days, the emails dissappeared again. Same symptoms. Only Date received ASC sort will bring back the msgs.

You have a fix for this? thanks.

Sugar fields are not sanitized before insertion to database. The email from address from a spam mail contains a single quote. This cause a mysql error and hung the inbound process. We cant control what spammers put as their from email but we should at least sanitize every string.
