What functionality can I expect form the community edition

Hi,

My first post. I have searched hard for a similar post but with no luck. I have also read the edition comparison pdf spec sheet.

My question is

Is it possible, via plug ins etc, to get the community edition to have the same power as the commercial versions?

For example I would like to be able to do sales forecasting, have a product catalog, do quotes, generate marketing reports and be able to escalate issues.

According the spec sheet none of this is possible with open source version. Can it become possible via plugins available form the open source community?
