    Default When åäö is first, they don´t get get imported, but else its ok (Bugg?)

    [Version 5.5.0 (Build 6653)] (Comm Ed)
    > Trying to import to Accounts <

    I can say to start, that I have "Cleaned" up my import file. There are no "erros" indicating or what so ever.
    When all seems to be fine, i saw that when the Caracters "Å, Ä, Ö" is First, Those do not get imported.
    If they come later, in a word / sentense its ok.

    Ex for a City Called:

    Östersund
    <the import will be>
    stersund

    If for ex the name is:
    Jönköping
    <the import will be>
    Jönköping

    The problem seems to be whenever the ÅÄÖ is First. This is through all the imported lines. It do not mather if it´s imported As a "name *" or for ex. a custom field.

    One more ex. so you know what i meen.
    An adress for ex. The import file has "Billing Street" "Billing City" "Billing State" "Billing Postal Code"
    The Adress will end upp something like this.

    Mejerigatan 2
    tvidaberg stergötland 597 30
    The right is

    Mejerigatan 2
    Åtvidaberg Östergötland 597 30
    And yes, i have tried a widre range of encoding the char-set of the Import file. Have also changed the local-settings etc. But "when it works "pretty ok", is allways the same result, meing no åäö in the beginning.

    So maybe it cauld be a bug?

    Thanks for any imput or solutions

    Regards
    /eNZo

    Just tested it and it worked fine. Try to save your import file as utf8 and do not forget to set your import char set to be the same (bottom of the import window, advanced options).
    I now tried it with a file saved as ANSI and imported as 1252.

    I am having the same issue with the first character not appearing when importing to a text field. I have saved the file in UTF-8 and ensured the import character is UTF-8 in advanced import section.

    I am on SugarCRM Version 5.2.0j.

    I have upgraded the application to 5.5.4 and I am still having this issue. I have even looked at the hex value in the file and it contains the correct hex code according to ISO 8859-1. I have saved the file in ISO 8859-1, modified the File Encoding to ISO 8850-1 in Advanced Option in Import.

    I have tired ANSI file to UTF-8, UTF-8 file to UTF-8 but still have the same issue. If the first character is Å or Ö, the character is skipped. Otherwise all special character show correctly everywhere else.

    The import screen does not display the character. Is it a bug with the import screen? Attached is an image of the import screen.

    Please help with this issue. I need this go live with the system.

    I just did a fairly large Import with 5.5.4 but the special characters show correctly. I will go trough the original file once again but I saw a few "ö" in the imported data which means it should be fine.

    I usually use oo calc in order to prepare the files, sometimes notepad++. Do not use MS products, they are unreliable when it comes to character sets.
