When creating a new contact, Accounts field won't let go of cursor/focus

OS Ver 4.5.1e
MYSQL, Apache, Win XP

During Contact creation, I click in Accounts field and type the 1st letter of the Account that the contact should be linked to. A drop down list of matches appears under the Account field. I select the correct one using the mouse and the Account name is passed to the field along with the phone and address details. All OK to this point but now I cannot move to another field. When I click or Tab to any field the cursor always immediately returns to the Account field.

If I delete the contents of the Account field and instead click the SELECT button to pick the Account, the details are returned OK and I can move on to another field.

Is this a known bug or is my system configured incorrectly.

Any ideas anyone?

I still get this issue on 4.5.1g

I create a new Account
Then create a new contact within this account by clicking on the Create button in the contact subpanel of the Account
I then select Full Form
I type in firstname
Tab takes me to lastname field, fill this in and then press Tab
I'm now in the Account field for the contact.
It contains the Account name and the account name is highlighted
I click Tab to move off the account field
the cursor now unhighlights the account name and the cursor flashes at the start of the account field (before the 1st letter of the Account name)
If I click Tab again but the cursor ramains in the account field and the SELECT and SAVE buttons seem to become highlighted (as if focus is now on these 2 buttons). cursor remains in Account field.

Only way to resolve this is to save the contact record and then I can edit the rest of the details.
It seems this only happens when I create the account immeditaly prior to creating the contact.

This is happening on ALL instances of Sugar that I run so its not just one mis configured system.

To test this on your own system do the following:
Go to Accounts
Start by Creating New Account
enter the word test in the account field and click SAVE button (no need for any other details)
Scroll down to Contact subpanel and click CREATE button
Click FULL FORM button
Type John
Click Tab
Type Doe
click Tab
Click Tab again and try to get out of the Account field.
only way out is to quit or save

Can someone on the support team say something about this? Is there a solution to this problem, a configuration error?

Can you post the EditView line where the account name is render?

Have you made any customization in the EditView.html or EditView.php?

Does it happen at another module, like account_name in opportunity or other field, like assigne_user_name?

Hi,

I am having this exact same problem in Sugar CRM 4.5.1e (Build 1049).

I have run some more tests to narrow the problem:

The cursor gets locked in
* "Account name" while creating a new contact.

It doesn't happen with
* "Assigned to" while creating a new contact.
* "Account name" while editing an existing contact (no matter if the account name was filled in or not before editing it)
* "Account name" while creating a new Opportunity.

So it seems it's very limited in scope: in the "Account name" field while creating a new contact.

Can you post the EditView line where the account name is render?

I am not sure what exactly I should be posting. Has something changed in the rendering code between some earlier versions that would cause this ?
