    Default Where is sugarcrm.log?

In the install documentation it says I should try to access sugarcrm.log through a browser
If a 403 error is given, then all is OK

    I can't find sugarcrm.log

I'm using a Linux server and have used the find command to search - nothing comes up

    What am I doing wrong?

    I'm using the community edition

    Thanks

    Hello,

The file sugarcrm.log is in the root folder of your install.

If you don't find it, check in admin->System settings, if logger settings have values.

    thanks for the reply
i just had a look in admin:system settings
    yes: they have values
could it be that nothing has occurred so therefore no log has been created?

ALSO, i saw this error at the top of the page:

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file config_override.php because Permission denied in /home/mydir/public_html/SugarCE-Full-5.5.1/include/utils/sugar_file_utils.php on line 161

(i replaced the actual dir name with 'mydir' above - everything else is the same though)

i've followed all instructions for setting file and directory permissions in the setup documentation
it says that i only need to set the following to be write only: cache, custom, data, modules, config.php

why am i getting this error?

    thanks
