I want to use the embedded email client in SugarCRM 5.2. However, it seems I am not the only one running into lots of issues. (Why are there any .... the email client has been around for a while!)
Anyways, I thought I would simply take a step back in time and just start with PLAIN TEXT EMAILS.
If I set "Admin --> EMail Settings --> Compose email messages in this format: --> Plain Text EMail" it makes zero difference in the interface. I still get the HTML WYSIWYG (Not true by the way) editor and I am forced to create HTML.
Then, when I send the email, everything ends up on ONE line.
So, I decided to take ANOTHER step back in time and use my external email client.
If I set "Admin --> EMail Settings --> Compose email using this client:--> External EMail Client" NOTHING changes. I expected that email addresses would be rendered with the HTML 'mailto' command, but no dice.
Am I just having a bad day, or has nothing really changed with the email functionality since I tried it over a year ago? From what I can see, the email client functionality is nowhere near beta, let alone production.
