Why wouldn't a lead has a company name ?

Hi,

I am moving from v ..... to sugar and am facing a bit of trouble here. Version 5.1.0a (Build 4837)

I can't find where to put the lead company name, website and industry.

I found that these fields are available while creating an account but not for a lead.

The form we have got these details as required for any lead who is interested in our website.

Is there anyway around that, or is it an obvious thing I am missing here?

Hi,

The account name is already there. You can add the website and industry via studio. If you recreate the two fields in Accounts with the same field names as you created in Leads, the values will automatically be transferred to Accounts when a Lead is converted.

Ok.
But this will eventually force one to fill the Accounts records with company names of leads that eventually does not turn into accounts? So, how do you recognize in the Accounts records, which ones are for real accounts and which ones for leads?
