Default Will Sugar 5.x run on Mac Leopard (OS X 10.5)?

Will Sugar 5.x run on the new Mac OS-X 10.5 (Leopard)? The Mac comes with PHP5 and Apache2 but I don't know if their version of PHP has all the necessary modules to run all the functions of Sugar 5.x

    Can anyone report on this?

    Thanks,
    Al

PS: Sugar 5.x runs fine on OS X 10.4 (different cat... which won't print here... don't know why) with the Entropy PHP found at at http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/ but Entropy have yet to put out a non-beta version for Leopard.

What errors are you getting on your MacBook with Leopard? How far in the process are you getting? Are you using a stack installer? I wouldn't. Just install MySQL from their site. How did you enable PHP or is it enabled by default in Leopard. Maybe it is not a Sugar issue but a Mac issue? Does phpMyAdmin work with your laptop?

It will run, but the IMAP libraries aren't installed, so the emails won't work.
I ended up using MAMP and disabling the built in apache to get sugar running properly.

OK. Thanks. I don't use the mail feature.

The best (and easiest) way is to use MAMP to run Sugar. Just download the free version and you can have a full system up and running in no time.

Also, BitRock installers has a good Mac server install for Apache, MySQL and PHP.

I would stick with those two.

I already have MySQL on my Intel Mac Mini (10.4.11). If I want to use MAMP do I have to delete the current one and re-gen all the databases. All I really need out of MAMP is the "P" since the PHP in Apple does not have all the libraries.

    I've never used MAMP before.

I would just do a dump of the data+structure, then stop the MySQL process and the apache server and then install MAMP. Then, do a quick import.

By default, MAMP runs on different ports. You can install everything, decide if you like it. Then, if everything works out for you, you can switch the ports to be back to standard again.

Also, I would download a demo of Navicat for dealing with MySQL. It is by far the best MySQL viewer and it has a really easy way of dumping DB's and re-importing them.

Thanks for all the help. I've been using phpMyAdmin for ten years so I'm good with that. I'm not sure how I turn off MySQL and keep it turned off as it is set start up at boot. I can ask on the Mac forums as they will know. (There should be an icon in Sys. Prefs but there isn't because I probably screwed up the install two years ago!)
