    Default Workflow on a blank datetime field

    I want to create a workflow on a datetime field, so that if the field is blank when it is saved, it gets filled with the current date and time.

    I can do the 2nd bit, but the datetime field I created does not appear in the lst of fields that workflow can trigger off.

    Help??!!

    PS this is on SugarCRM Enterprise 6.1
